Who are we?
Bel Canto, a dynamic vocal ensemble based in Devon, is composed of a group of skilled and passionate singers who embrace a wide range of musical styles.
Each member of the group brings a wealth of experience from singing in larger choirs, bands, and as solo performers.
With our diverse musical backgrounds, the singers of Bel Canto share a deep appreciation for the beauty and depth of choral music. We enjoy creating the rich, harmonious sound that defines our performances.
The ensemble's blend of talent, versatility, and camaraderie allows us to connect with our audiences in a way that feels both professional and personal, creating an memorable musical experience for all involved.

What do we do?
We truly are a choir like no other! Whatever your musical taste, you're sure to find something you’ll love with us.
From the timeless works of JS Bach, Faure, Edward Elgar, and John Rutter to jazz standards by Cole Porter and Irving Berlin, or perhaps a rendition of a classic Lennon and McCartney tune, a Snow Patrol hit, or even a Spice Girls anthem — our repertoire has something for everyone.
Under Alan's expert direction, we're able to adapt our singing style to suit the unique challenges each piece presents, capturing its spirit and essence.
Above all, our goal is to deeply engage with our audience while maintaining a relaxed, friendly, and inclusive atmosphere.
Our choir is incredibly versatile and can perform in any setting. Whether it's a grand church, a community center, or even a marquee at an outdoor arts festival, we’re ready to bring our music to any venue. We perform in local churches across Exeter, Cullompton, and surrounding villages like Topsham, Lympstone, and Whitstone.
We also enjoy offering a more relaxed, informal experience at places like Cullompton Community Centre, where seating is arranged around tables with a bar for a unique atmosphere. Whether it’s a wedding venue, a local arts event, or the annual memorial service at East Devon Crematorium, we are always prepared to adapt our performance to the space and occasion.
No matter where we perform, our aim is to bring music to life in a way that connects with our audience.
